Ashwaganda and Siberian Rhubarb Supplements Remedy For Menopause In Women

Today (January 13, 2012) Dr. Oz talks about how Ashwaganda and Siberian Rhubarb supplements are great supplements that you can to take to fight those dreaded menopause symptoms.  To help him with this segment Dr. Oz was assisted by OB/GYN Dr. Wendy Warner.  She said that your Dr. should be willing to take some time to talk to you about your menopausal symptoms so they can offer you a right remedy that will help you.

Dr. Warner explained to Dr. Oz that traditional medication is often used to treat menopausal symptoms by lowering your estrogen levels that cause hot flashes, insomnia, and other symptoms related with menopause.

Siberian Rhubarb Is A Remedy That Relieves Menopause Symptoms

Dr. Wendy Warner believes that the root cause of Perimenopause symptoms is caused by a hormonal imbalance that can be cause by a myriad of reasons.  How our bodies break down estrogen can cause stress on the adrenal gland and cause dysfunction resulting in uncomfortable symptoms.

Dr. Oz had a guest come down from the audience named Wanda.  She said that she suffers through the traditional symptoms that most menopausal women go through.  Hot flashes, trouble sleeping, mood swings, etc..  Dr. Warner says that hot flashes are caused because of an adrenal imbalance.   When your adrenal is stressed (which what happens in menopause) you will likely get hot flashes.

Dr. Oz said to take 4 mg of Siberian Rhubarb Supplements once per day to help combat symptoms. You can find these supplements online or in some health food stores.

Ashwagandha Supplements

Take 500mg of Ashwagandha twice per day.  Dr. Oz said that both of these supplements can be taken together.

Menopause Smoothie Recipe

Belly fat and menopause can make symptoms worse.  Belly fat causes your estrogen levels to increase, which in turn makes your body produce more insulin.  This causes an inflammatory response which leads to more belly fat!  This is the smoothie recipe that Dr. Oz shared on his show today.

Menopause Smoothie Recipe

1 cup of swiss chard

1 cup of green tea

1/2 cup of blueberries

2 cups of brazil nuts

1 tablespoon of flaxseed

They tried this recipe on stage and said that this was good.. Although, I must say than in comparison to past recipes that they shared on stage during Dr. Oz shows, they seemed a little less enthusiastic about the taste this time!
