Food Combinations For Better Health
Did you know that combining certain food combinations can boost your food, help prevent cancer, and protect you from heart disease? Dr. Oz did a segment with Dietician Sari Greaves to talk about powerful superfood combinations to immediately improve your health. Sari Greaves said that research shows that eating certain foods together can curb inflammation. Inflammation is part of what ages us faster. She said that eating certain food combinations will do two thinks. It will help protect your body against inflammation and it will slow down chronic diseases.
Pink Grapefruit and Avocado
Sari mentioned to Dr. Oz that pink grapefruit is a great source for lycopene, which will counteract cell damage that occurs with aging. When you combine avocado with grapefruit you are adding a healthy fat which will boost the absorption of lycopene. She said to try to eat this combo twice a week.
Brussel Sprouts and Olive Oil Combo
This was one of Dr. Oz’s favorites. This combination helps to protect your eyes. Brussel sprouts contain lutein which help fight cell damage. Also helps prevent age related macular degeneration and cataracts. The healthy fat in olive oil will boost the absorption of lutein in the brussel sprouts.
Apples and Dark Chocolate Prevent Heart Disease
The disease fighting flavenoids from the dark chocolate when combined with apples (with the skin) offer more protection when taken together.
Green Tea With Lemons To Keep Skin Young
Sari told Dr. Oz that you should be mixing lemons with green tea. She said that green tea is an anti-inflammatory superstar. She said that just one squirt from a lemon into the green tea will improve the absorption levels of it’s antioxidants by 13 times.
