Dr. Oz “Faturday” – The Day To Cheat On Your Diet Plan
Dr. Oz has had many episodes on how to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. “Faturday” is the day that you are allowed to cheat. Dr. Oz spent the whole show teaching the audience and his viewers how you can cheat on your diet plan without sabotaging your weight loss efforts.
Faturday – How To Cheat On Your Diet Plan
Dr. Oz chose three women to help with his “Faturday” project. He gave $100 to the 3 women (Michelle, Jennifer, and Linda) to go out and eat whatever they wanted. All three too FULL advantage of quest to eat with no restrictions. They were eating pizza, ice cream, cookies, burgers, fries, cakes, and more! Nothing was off limits, and the women ate everything put in front of them with a smile on their face!
After the women had their day to recklessly consume high calorie/fat junk food Dr. Oz invited the women to calculate how many calories that they consumed. Here are the results:
- Linda Consumed 3217 Calories
- Jennifer 3362 Calories
- Michelle Devoured 2508 Calories
Dr. Oz asked The women what their favorite part of the “off limits” experiments was? Jennifer responded by saying that is was being able to eat without guilt, counting calories, carbohydrates, and fat. Linda said that she was most prone to cheat because she is an emotional eater. A stressful day at work, problems at home, or turmoil in the family were reasons that would trigger her to cheat and sabotage her diet. Michelle considered herself to be an emotional eater. Her cheating sessions usually occurred when she would eat out with her friends.
The Cheat Plan For Fat-Urday
Is it possible that cheating on your diet can be good for you? According to Dr. Oz the answer is yes, BUT you should do it with the right cheat plan in place or you can get yourself into trouble. This is what the concepts of “Fat-urday” is all about.
Dr. Oz said that people who cheat on their diet actually lose more weight! Sweeter words may have never been spoken! He said this is because the sudden high caloric intake of “Faturday” stimulates your thyroid and revs up your metabolism. It also rids your body’s natural defense mechanism to hang on to your food when it feels like it is in starvation mode. Dr. Oz said that to cheat successfully on your diet you have to do it at just the right time and moment. In other words you don’t get free reign to eat with reckless abandon at any time of the day or night.
Dr. Oz’s Faturday Cheat Plan
- Decide on wat day is going to be your Fat-urday – Make sure that your Faturday is at least 5 days from your last Faturday..
- Eliminate the tempation to binge (no eating in the car, snacking out of the fridge, etc…)
- Have your Faturday schedule set. 3 meals – 2 snacks – target cravings
Here is Dr. Oz’s example of what a Faturday would be like
- Whole wheat wrap
- 2 eggs
- 2 strips of turkey bacon
Cheat With Salty Snacks
Mid morning snack :
- Brie or goat cheese
- Whole grain crackers
- Large glass of water
Cheat Carbs For Lunch
Now it’s time to reve up your metabolism and stimulate your thyroid gland.
- 1 slice of whole wheat pizza
- Toppings include grilled chicken and vegetables
Cheat With Sugar With Your Afternoon Snack
- 1/2 Cup of frozen yogurt
- 10 Almonds
Cheat During Dinner With Protein
- 4 Ounces of lean strip steak
- Vegetable fries
The Dr. Oz plan noted above has 1379 calories. Generally speaking a woman will lose weight eating 1500 calories per day. Dr. Oz said if you goo TOO far below the 1500 calories level your body starts storing fat as a self defense mechanism. When your body doesn’t feel like it is being threatened it will let go of the fat that your trying to rid yourself of.
Apply a diet similar to the one shown above 1-2 times per week to keep your metabolism boosted and lose weight easily.
