Dr. Oz Super Diet That Combines Mediterranean, TLC, and Dash Diets
Dr. Oz combined some of the best aspects of three of the most
popular (and successful) diets into one and made the “Dr. Oz Super Diet”. With so many diets out there, it’s nearly impossible to choose which is the right one, which is the most healthiest, and which is right for your body! This episode Dr. Oz takes the best from the best from each diet and combines them into one super diet to help you lose weight!
The Dash Diet promises to lower blood pressure. The TLC diet is well known for it’s ability to lower your cholesterol. The Mediterranean Diet can jump start your metabolism, and the one that Dr. Oz was raised on.
Dr. Oz Super Diet Tips – Chinese 5 Spice
This diet targets the three biggest threats to your health. 1. High blood pressure 2. Cholesterol 3. Your weight.
Tip #1 To Lower Your Blood Pressure : Get rid of the salt! Easier said than done right? Dr. Oz suggests using spices instead of salt. Italian salt free seasonings, lemon pepper mix, and Chinese 5 Spice. Chinese 5 spice contains ginger, cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, cumin, and orange peel.
Dr. Oz said that Chinese 5 spice is loaded with antioxidants, can lower blood pressure, and reduce your chances of getting heart disease! You can add this spice to stir fry, and veggies. I’m ready to try that spice!
TLC Diet Tip #2
Plants have sterols (instead of cholesterol). These compounds block cholesterol from being absorbed in our bodies. You can find sterols in margarine. (but not the stick margarine). Use tub margarine in place of butter. Wheat germ is also a great way to get sterols.
Mediterranean Diet Tip #3
Eat healthy fats. Dr. Oz said to not worry about cutting back on your fat intake. Instead, replace bad fats with healthy fats. Replace butter with olive oil, or canola oils. Introduce fish like sardines and mackerel into your diet.
Dr. Oz’s Secret for maintaining his weight (the same weight at which he was in college) is nuts. Dr. Oz eats them every day. Find a nut that you love and make them a part of your diet.
